In addition, there are a large number of books and videos available for you to study. Many of local chapters have books and videos to lend. The Hearing Loss Association of America (formerly SHHH) has an excellent online catalog of books, pamphlets, and videos. Captioned Media Program provides free-loan open-captioned videos on a variety of topics (including a series of six titles on lipreading!) to deaf and hard of hearing individuals, their parents and teachers. The CMP is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and is administered by the nonprofit National Association of the Deaf. The public library is also a good source of information. |
